Chester FC target Elliott Durrell has held talks with AFC Telford United over a possible move but admits he must play at the highest level he can.
Former Wrexham attacking midfielder Durrell emerged as a target for Chester earlier this week and has been in contact with Blues boss Jon McCarthy who remains keen on the 26-year-old.
But Chester face a battle for his signature with National League North sides Telford, FC Halifax Town and Boston United all keen on the ex-Tamworth man, who netted 14 goals for the Lambs last season.

"It’s clear for everyone that he got the best out of me in my time at Hednesford Town If the deal is right, there’s no reason why I wouldn’t go back to Telford.
“But, at the moment, I’ve had other things on my mind so it’s been put on the back-burner."

Shrewsbury-based Durrell, who also counts Hednesford Town among his former clubs, has recently become a father for the first time and will take stock of the situation before deciding where his future lies.
“I’ve just had a new-born baby so that’s taking up quite a lot of my time.
“But it’s a big season for me and I need to make sure I make the right decision for myself and my career moving forward.
"I have to play as high a standard as I can, but there’s nothing to say I wouldn’t sign for Telford.”
