Port Vale midfielder Ryan Lloyd has had his loan at Chester FC extended for another month.

The 21-year-old arrived at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium in late November and has made four appearances to date

He has helped the Blues to record back-to-back victories after a run of five games without a win and shone in the 4-1 defeat of Torquay United on Saturday.

Although considered most comfortable on the left side, Lloyd was used as part of a central midfield three against the Gulls.

His initial loan deal was due to expire at the end of the month but his parent club have agreed to Chester's request for an extension.

Earlier this month, Lloyd told The Chronicle he was enjoying his time at Chester but admitted the physicality of the National League took some getting used to.

Lloyd, from Biddulph in Staffordshire, has been at Vale Park since the age of eight and made his senior debut in April 2011.

Last term he captained the reserves to a regional league title and a cup final, leading to him penning a new contract over the summer and has made five appearances in League One this season.
