Chester FC have completed the signing of striker Cory Williams, who has been playing for Caernarfon Town in the Cymru Alliance.

Steve Burr invited the 19-year-old, who made 10 substitute appearances for Hereford United last season, to train with the squad and he has done enough to earn himself a deal.

Hereford signed Williams from Caernarfon but he Edgar Street in the summer amid the club's financial problems.

He had trials at Leicester City and Bristol City, who underwrote a short-term move to Weston-Super-Mare. Williams, who will wear shirt number 12, scored twice in six games for the Conference South club before returning to his hometown club Caernarfon in November.

His arrival coincides with the departure of full-back John Disney, who has reached an agreement to terminate his contract.

Disney, 22, moved from Hednesford Town last summer with the Blues having to pay compensation to the Conference North club.

He struggled to break into the team and was substituted at half-time on his debut at Braintree Town after conceding a penalty.

He made one more appearance in the Cheshire Senior Cup defeat at Runcorn Town and spent the back part of 2014 on loan at Nantwich Town.

Disney follows his former Hednesford team-mate Wayne Riley out of the exit door at the Swansway Chester Stadium.

Riley, whose contract was cancelled at the end of last week by mutual consent, has agreed to rejoin Welsh Premier League club Airbus UK Broughton.

He spent the 2012-13 season at the Airfield, finishing as leading scorer with 14 goals, before switching to Hednesford.

Riley moved to the Blues in the summer but found his first team chances limited and confirmed his return to Airbus on Twitter.

Wingmakers director of football Andy Preece said: "Wayne just wants to play football and we’re delighted to be able to give him that opportunity.

"He’s a quality player and he wouldn’t sign for any other club in this league, so we’re really happy to have him back.

"He wants to play for me and he wants to play for Airbus. He was our top scorer and was in the league’s team of the year, so if he’s half as good for us as he was that season then I’ll be more than happy."

Chester are hoping to bring in at least two more new faces before the trip to Southport on Saturday (3pm).

Burr continues to work on strengthening his forward line and is looking at possible loan signings and trialists, including a striker who has played in the Conference Premier this season and a centre forward at a Conference North club.

A deal has been agreed in principle to bring in a central midfielder on loan from a League One club and with a non-contract keeper who will provide back-up for Jon Worsnop.
