NEW goalkeeper Matt Glennon wants to use all his experience to help Chester FC land their second straight title.

But that is not the only attribute Glennon believes can help the Blues after he was parachuted into their championship challenge.

The former Hull City and Huddersfield Town number one, 33, said: “What can I bring to the team? Definitely noise! I’m quite vocal.

“But also enjoyment. I play with a smile on my face and I hope the rest of the lads will do as well when the pressure is on.

“I’ve played more than 450 games so I’ve got the experience. I should be nice and calm when the pressure is on.”

Chester boss Neil Young moved for Glennon after John Danby was ruled out for the rest of the campaign through injury.

Glennon has signed a deal until the end of the season following his release from hometown club Stockport County.

The England C international has spent the majority of his career in the Football League but he jumped at the chance to join the Blues late last week.

Glennon, a Conference play-off winner with Carlisle United in 2005, said: “I’ve been training at Hull City Monday-Friday and I wanted to go somewhere I could enjoy playing football but also to a club that wants to win.

“I’ve not played at this level before but Chester are a team who want to win the league and hopefully I can be part of it.”

Glennon, who achieved the rare feat of saving three penalties in one match for Huddersfield against Crewe Alexandra in February 2007, kept a clean sheet on his Blues debut on Saturday.

His arrival at the Exacta Stadium has led to Adam Judge quitting the club.

The 24-year-old had hoped to be given a run in the side after Danby broke a finger in four places.

Chester boss Neil Young will now bring in a young keeper to cover for Glennon.
