George Thomson was the sole Chester FC representative to be in action for his loan club at the weekend.

Tom Peers was unavailable for Salford City's televised FA Cup clash with Hartlepool United while, for the second week running, the weather prevented Witton Albion and Sam Hughes from taking to the pitch

Here's this week update on how trio of players currently out on loan are getting on:

George Thomson

Attacking midfielder Thomson started as FC United claimed a valuable 2-1 win over Neil Young's Stockport County outfit

In front of 4,797 supporters at Edgeley Park, Tom Greaves got the winner with 18 minutes to go after Rory Fallon gave Thomson's the lead before Jonny Margetts - on loan from Tranmere Rovers - levellled.

The three points moved the Reds out of the National League North's bottom three. Thomson will be hoping to retain his place when Nuneaton Town visit Broadhurst Park on Wednesday night.

Tom Peers

Peers was ineligible for the FA Cup second round clash with Hartlepool United owing to his earlier involvement in the competition for the Blues.

The Ammies earned themselves a replay after holding the League Two visitors to a 1-1 draw with Steve O'Halloran cancelling out the opener from ex-Chester loanee Rhys Oates.

Peers will be hoping to return to the fold for Saturday's home game with Whitby Town as Salford seek to keep up the pressure on the top two in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.

Sam Hughes

The midfielder had a blank weekend when Witton Albion's trip to Clitheroe in Evo-Stik League First Division North was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Shawbridge.

Hughes, has made five appearances so far for Carl Macauley's men, will be looking to help the Wincham Park club move further clear of the relegation zone at home to bottom of the table New Mills on Saturday.
