Almost 150 children enjoyed a day of festive fun and football at Chester FC when the Junior Blues hosted their Christmas party.

Boys and girls of all ages took part in a host of activities at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium and were able to watch the first team training on the pitch in the morning.

There were craft sessions where youngsters could make decorations, football games at the Goals Soccer Centre opposite the ground, Christmas songs and the chance to meet Santa Claus, have photographs taken with him and pick up a chocolate selection box.

Once the Blues squad had finished training, manager Steve Burr, his squad and mascot Big Lupus were introduced to the children, signed autographs and posed for photographs with John Rooney and Ross Hannah the star attractions.

The Junior Blues then had lunch with the players before the fun continued into the afternoon with more arts and crafts and football sessions.

The event was free of charge for Junior Blues members and organised by the Junior Blues committee together with Chester FC Community Trust.
