From York City to Maidstone United, next season's National League will see Chester FC fans visit some new grounds and reacquaint themselves with some old ones.

Gone are the superb fish and chips at Grimsby Town, although that blow has been somewhat softened by the arrival of York and it's fine array of watering holes and beautiful surroundings.

Also off the radar for Blues fans this season are trips to Whaddon Road, the home of Cheltenham Town while Welling United's Park View Road, FC Halifax Town's The Shay Stadium and Altrincham's Moss Lane and are off the agenda for the time being, as is the magnificent 'Aggborough Pie' at Kidderminster Harriers.

So who has replaced them?

York and Dagenham & Redbridge fell through the Football League trap door at the end of last season and will face non-league football once more while coming up from the regional leagues are Solihull Moors, Maidstone, Sutton United and North Ferriby United.

Here is a guide to the six new grounds making an appearance in next season's National League.

YORK CITY

A ground that many a Chester fan will no doubt have visited over the years, Bootham Crescent has seen both Football League and non-league encounters between the two sides.

Chester's most recent visit to York was on November 10, 2009, when a Richard Brodie hat-trick secured a 3-2 success for the Minstermen over the cash-strapped Blues during what would prove to be their final season as Chester City.

Jim Harvey's side were 3-0 down just after the break but did rally thanks to a 30-yard effort from Anthony Barry and a late Shaun Kelly header, but it proved too little, too late.

What about York itself? Much like Chester, York has a strong Roman connection to its past and is a walled city on the banks of a river, in their case the River Ouse.

It's narrow cobbled streets, filled with independent shops and some of the finest local pubs in the UK, and it's rich history and architecture make for a unique and enjoyable away day for fans.

Famous faces from York: Steve McClaren (former England and Newcastle United manager), Dame Judi Dench (Oscar-winning actress).

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE

Another ground that travelling Blues fans will be well acquainted with, both in Football League and the National League, Victoria Road has seen its fair share of clashes between Chester and the Daggers.

The most recent meeting in London between the two sides came on the opening day of the 2008/2009 season and proved a throughly miserable affair for Blues fans as Simon Davies's charges were hammered 6-0.

A Sam Saunders brace and strikes from Dominic Green, Ben Strevens, Paul Benson and Mark Nwokeji made for an embarrassing afternoon for Chester, who would be relegated from League Two at the end of the campaign.

A ground visited twice before by Chester, the Blues were 3-0 victors at Moors in September 2012 thanks to strikes from Nathan Jarman, Iain Howard and Ben Mills during the Conference North title-winning campaign of 2012/2013.

Chester also played Solihull Borough at Damson Park in an FA Trophy fourth-round replay, winning 4-2 thanks to a Dean Spink hat-trick and one from Phil Bolland in February 2002.

MAIDSTONE UNITED

Another team who the Blues will face for the first time, Maidstone United rose from the ashes of the defunct former Football League club of the same name in 1992 and have finally fought their way back to non-league football's top table after finishing last season as National League South play-off champions.

Their Gallagher Stadium home will be one of the newest in the National League and looks set to have a 3G pitch installed in time for the start of the new season.

Another ground that some Blues fans will have already ticked off the list, Chester last played in East Riding during the 2011/2012 season when they emerged 3-0 victors at Grange Lane thanks to strikes from George Horan, Michael Wilde and Chris Simm.

North Ferriby will be a different proposition this time around, though, after the 2015 FA Trophy winners won promotion to nonleague football's top tier via the National League North play-offs.
