Last week we asked which of our former Chester FC skippers from the past 25 years was the greatest...and the results are in!

Having held aloft a league title in three successive seasons, George Horan narrowly topped our online poll with 44% of the votes, beating off some stiff competition from Blues legend Graham Barrow who polled 31%.

Horan's spell as Blues skipper between 2010 and 2014 has already seen him ensconced in the Chester FC Hall of Fame for his exploits.

Having joined the club from Droylsden following the Blues' reformation, Chester-born Horan was a colossus at the heart of defence for Neil Young's side, leading them to the Evo-Stik First Division North, Evo-Stik Northern Premier League and Blue Square North titles in successive seasons. A phenomenal feat the likes of which it is hard to imagine will be replicated.

Chester's very own 'Captain Fantastic' left the Blues in June 2014 and opted to make the switch to Welsh Premier League side Gap Connah's Quay, where he continues to ply his trade.
