LOYAL supporters are being asked to fly the flag with pride for title-challenging Chester FC in their final home match of the season.

Officials will distribute 3,000 flags featuring the club’s colours – 1,500 blue and 1,500 white – to fans before Saturday’s crucial clash against Bamber Bridge in a bid to inspire Neil Young’s table-topping team to victory.

Regardless of what rivals Skelmersdale United do, Chester will win the league if they take maximum points from their final three games of the season.

With tricky trips to AFC Fylde and Garforth Town to come next week, the club’s executive Steve Ashton wants supporters to get down to the Exacta Stadium in their droves and raise the roof.

Lifelong Blue Ashton, who works for MBNA, said: “We need to get as many fans down to the Exacta as possible and really make the most of home advantage.

“If would be great if we can make it a real carnival atmosphere backing Neil and his team.

“It should be a great game too. Although we’ve had a slight dip in form, we’re still the best performing home team in the division.

“We played very well in our last home game against Cammell Laird and hopefully we’ll see a repeat from the lads on Saturday as it will be another stepping stone toward our ultimate goal.

“It will be great if we can get over 3,000 people.

“Our average is 2,350 and as the title is now in our hands, we want people flocking to the Exacta.”

Kick-off on Saturday is 3pm.

The flags will be placed on seats in the stands for fans to pick up.

Supporters standing on the Harry McNally Terrace will be able to collect their flags on or close to the turnstile.
