With a home encounter with high-flying Forest Green Rovers on the horizon this Saturday there has been plenty going on at Chester FC .

From selection headaches for Jon McCarthy to just what is happening with Ross Killock, here's your Blues fix for Thursday.

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH KILLOCK?

Defender Killock has yet to pull on a shirt in a competitive clash for the Blues this season since his summer switch from Leeds United owing to a troublesome calf injury.

He played 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly against Port Vale last week and came through unscathed but has not been considered for the last two games.

Blues boss McCarthy gave us an update on just what is happening.

Said the Chester manager: "He played 45 minutes last week but he has missed quite a bit of pre-season. He has missed five weeks.

"There is quite a bit of training that Ross Killock needs to do to get to a level where we could put him in to a team.

"We know when Ross Killock is sharp and he is right and as soon as we see that in training and reaches the level where we could put him into a game then we'll do that. But it's pleasing to see him back on the training ground."

KIDS GO FREE!

As part of Non-League Day this Saturday, Chester are offering free entry to under-15s accompanied by an adult.

The Blues this week announced the launch of the Swettenham Chemists' Family Zone in the West Stand and to celebrate this weekend will see a special introductory offer.

The Family Zone will provide families with a dedicated area within the ground and special pricing to make a trip to the match more affordable.

IS THERE A NATIONAL LEAGUE TRANSFER WINDOW?

SELECTION HEADACHES

With Evan Horwood missing this weekend's clash with Forest Green after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, Theo Vassell absent through injury and Ross Killock still not match sharp, McCarthy has a defensive reshuffle to contend with for Saturday.

He said: "It's not ideal but it is something that you have to deal with almost every week. It's just part and parcel of it.

"When we picked the squad we had cover for every position. To have so many around the defensive and full-back positions is a little bit unfortunate but we have options. We'll have a look at it and come up with some solutions."
