Chester FC have arranged a special festive fixture at home to Liverpool Under-23s tomorrow (Tuesday, December 20).

And the Blues are set to face players who have appeared in the Premier League title challengers' first team.

The friendly was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday (December 21).

But it was brought forward 24 hours at the request of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who is planning to give a run out to stars pushing for a place in his senior squad.

That means the likes of Chester-born Ben Woodburn, who last month because the youngest goalscorer in the club's history , and Sheyi Ojo could get a run out at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

The fit-again Joe Gomez and the out-of-favour Mamadou Sakho have also featured for the Reds' U23s this month.

And Klopp may decide to give game time to players who are not expected to feature in tonight's Merseyside derby such as goalkeeper Loris Karius.

It will be Chester's final home match of the year and it comes on the back of a 2-0 win over Aldershot Town on Saturday which extended their unbeaten run to seven games.

With a Boxing Day trip to Solihull Moors on the horizon, Blues boss Jon McCarthy is likely to rotate his squad.

Kick-off is 1pm and entry costs £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
