Chester FC entertain Warrington Town this evening in the quarter-finals of the Cheshire Senior Cup (7.45pm).

The game marks the first meeting of the clubs since the 2010-11 season with tonight's winners going on to face Tranmere Rovers or Cammell Laird 1907 in the semi-finals.

Blues boss Steve Burr can be expected to make a number of changes for the clash with the Yellows.

Chester host Tranmere in the National League on Sunday (12 noon) so the manager's selection for this evening will give an indication of his thinking for the weekend.

Jon Worsnop could return in goal with Tony Thompson having started the last two league games while Johnny Hunt will be hoping for a run out having been left on the bench against Altrincham and Kidderminster Harriers.

John Rooney and Craig Mahon were withdrawn at half-time in the draw with Kidderminster so might well start while Kane Richards and Craig Hobson are likely to feature along with several youth teamers.

Luke George (hamstring) won't be involved and Burr could decide to rest leading scorer Ross Hannah and defender Ben Heneghan, who is nursing an ankle knock.

Chester cruised to a 3-0 win over Hyde United in the previous round having thrashed Winsford United 10-1 at the preliminary stage .

Warrington come into tonight's tie on the back of a 12-game unbeaten run and have won their last nine in all competitions.

The Yellows, who parted company with manager and former Blues favourite Shaun Reid earlier this month, hold an eight-point lead at the top of Evo-Stik League First Division North.

New management duo Stuart Mellish and Lee Smith's first game in charge was a 1-0 win over Ossett Albion at the weekend.

Warrington's squad includes Danny Ventre and Michael Lea, who both had spells with Chester City, as well as Scott Metcalfe and Joe Holt, who had short stints with the Blues under Neil Young.

The Yellow provided the opposition for Chester's first game as a fan-owned club in August 2010 when a crowd of 1,498 squeezed into Cantilver Park.

Rob Hopley gave the Blues the lead after six minutes but the hosts drew level in the 22nd minute through Gavin Salmon and the game finished 1-1.

The return fixture took place in January 2011 with Chester blowing a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw.

Steven Beck opened the scoring in the fifth minute and captain George Horan doubled the advantage on 66 minutes but the Yellows hit back to rescue a point with an own goal from Stuart Jones and an 88th minute equaliser from Tom Hardwick.

This evening's tie must be decided on the night so extra-time and penalties will be used if required. Admission costs £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for under-18s.
