CHESTER FC manager Neil Young has revealed he wants to follow the capture of Mark Redshaw by signing a striker who is a ‘proven goalscorer at a higher level’.

The well-travelled Redshaw, 27, whose most recent club was in Holland, has agreed a short-term deal and could make his debut in tomorrow’s FA Cup tie at Gainsborough Trinity (3pm) if international clearance comes through in time.

And if Young has his way, Redshaw will soon be joined at the Blues by another forward.

Young said: “Mark will come in on a short-term deal and we will have a look at him but we are still hoping to sign a permanent replacement for Adam Proudlock next week.

“We have identified who we would like and after both clubs have played over the weekend we will speak with his club.

“A proven goalscorer at a higher level is a must and that’s the remit we will be following.”
