CHESTER FC are tomorrow expected to complete the signing of former Wrexham and Wales Under 21s forward Marc Williams.

The 23-year-old agreed personal terms with the Blues on Friday following his release from Blue Square Premier outfit Kidderminster Harriers.

Williams, who was a summer target for Chester’s title rivals Northwich Victoria, was wanted by a number of clubs after ending his time at Aggborough.

But he has chosen to make the move to the Blues to the delight of boss Neil Young.

Williams came up through the Wrexham youth ranks and made his senior debut for the club in January 2006.

He went on to score 17 goals in 79 league appearances for the Dragons before joining Kidderminster on a permanent deal in May 2011.

The hardworking Williams’ best season of his career came in the 2008-09 campaign.

Playing alongside well-travelled targetman Louis Jefferson, he scored 15 goals in 27 games for Wrexham before a broken foot brought an end to his season.
