Here's how Chester FC reporter Jim Green rated the players following Tuesday night's 4-0 demolition of Lincoln City at the Swansway Chester Stadium .

Jon Worsnop 7: A spectator for most of the game aside from a couple of routine saves and did everything he had to do well. Clean sheet bonuses clocking up.

Ryan Higgins 9: Crowed a fantastic display with a tremendous goal with his weaker foot. Can't wait him to strike a ball with his right peg. Looks an excellent addition to the squad.

Ben Heneghan 8: Caught out early on when he missed a header but recovered to give another impressive display. Great to see a centre back willing to carry the ball forward out of defence.

Michael Kay 8: Rose to the occasion having been made captain for the night, leading by example and organising the back four well. Proved his importance to the team earlier in the season and in no mood to surrender his place again.

Gareth Roberts 7: Has been in fine form of late and hopefully the knock that forced him off is just a minor one. Wish he was five years younger.

Brad Abbott 9: Oozed class as he controlled midfield and opened his account for the club with a stunning long-range strike. Has improved with each appearance so far and easy to see why parent club Barnsley hold him in such high regard.

John Rooney 8: Looked far comfortable without having to worry too much about the defensive side of things. Sprayed some sweet passes and got himself a goal, albeit a fortunate one. Technically one of the best in the squad, just needs to keep playing what he sees.

Craig Mahon 8: Give him the ball and let him make things happen. A bundle of energy and skill, and the kind of old school winger rarely seen in the game. Still improving too.

Sean McConville 8: Doesn't always get the credit he deserves and has really profited from the extra pace added to the team in the past few weeks. Cool finish for his goal and an intelligent player who is missed when he's not involved.

Matty Hughes 8: Didn't quite get the breaks again and a couple of signs of rustiness but he frightens defenders and has a brilliant work-rate.

Oliver McBurnie 8: All that was missing was a goal after the teenager gave another performance beyond his years. Has a fantastic attitude, works hard and doing exactly what he was brought in to do.

Substitutes

Kane Richards 6: Raw but will hopefully take encouragement from his display. Plenty of energy and can see why the manager rates his potential.

George Thomson 6: A decent cameo and unlucky not to see his deft lob drop the wrong side of the crossbar with the keeper well beaten.

Kieran Charnock 6: Came on for the final 17 minutes when Roberts picked up a knock and slotted in well.
