SALTNEY SC moved level at the top of Chester & District Sunday League Chester Chronicle Section B after Elton lost their unbeaten record.

Second-placed Saltney (Lee McGovern 3, Phil Wordsworth, Nathan Jones) won 5-2 at home to Waverton (Steve Bostock, Jamie O'Brien) as the long-time leaders suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at new boys AFC Hilton.

Charlie Barton’s second-half strike settled the contest, but there would have been more goals had it not been for superb Hilton goalkeeper Jacob Andrews and the Elton woodwork.

Third-placed AFC Werburgh’s (Ryan Lloyd 2, Gareth Breeze, Darren Jones) won 4-0 at home to Piper; Tattenhall (Colin Mutete 2, Dave Atkinson) settled for 3-0 at home to FC Bull & Stirrup.

FC Blacon (Scott Chard 2, Alfie Cheers, Leon Jones, Lee Bennion) were the only team to taste victory in Concorde Trophies Section A, 5-0 at home to Tarvin Rex.

It finished 2-2 between Highfield Quinplex (Neil Fields 2) and table-topping Vicars Cross Dynamos (Ben Billington, Paul Sweeney), 1-1 between Upton Youth Centre (Kevin Sharpe) and Dee Miller Athletic (Simon Andrews), and 4-4 between Watergates (Peter Beercroft 3, Dale Harris) and Dee Rangers (Robert Kennerley 3, Michael Jeffs).
