THE final of the Chester & District Sunday League Dale Recycling Solutions Cup will be an all-Saltney affair between Corner Pin LG and holders Saltney Ferry.

Corner Pin sealed their place in the decider with a tense penalty shoot-out win over Section A title rivals Vicars Cross Dynamos at Thackeray Drive.

The visitors led 2-0 in normal time and 3-2 in extra-time through Gareth Sudlow, Paul Hollifield (pen) and Tom Smith but the Dynamos battled back to ensure honours ended even after 120 minutes of thrilling football.

Penalties were required and it was Corner Pin who kept their cool to win 5-4 with Lee Highfield converting their winning spot-kick.

Sunday’s other semi-finals saw Saltney Ferry run out 4-2 winners at lower-division Custom House.

Mike Marsh (2) and Chris Williams put the Ferryman in control before the hosts gave themselves hope with a gallant second-half fightback in which Peter Bearcroft scored twice.

The away side settled the contest, however, with a superb 85th-minute strike from Chris Herbert.

Tarvin Rex moved up to second in Chester Chronicle Section B with a 7-3 success at home to Tattenhall.

Waverton won 4-2 at Red Door and AFC Hilton drew 1-1 at home to Spital Vaults.
