AFC Lache remain on course to finish their incredible Chester & District Sunday League season with a 100% winning record.
The Chester Chronicle Section B champions made it 21 triumphs on the trot and 111 goals for the campaign with a 7-0 victory at home to rock-bottom Red Door on Tuesday.
Matty Tarbuck (2), Mike Waters (2), player-manager Dale Gilmartin and 16-year-old substitute Declan McHugh (2 inc pen) did the damage.
Boss Gilmartin, whose side will make it 22 wins from 22 if they beat AFC Hilton in their final game of the season this weekend, said: “It would be a fantastic achievement.
“And they deserve it as they’ve turned up throughout the winter months, week in and week out and shown great team spirit.”
Lache (Tarbuck 2, Gilmartin, Waters, Scott Beech) had won 5-3 at Custom House (Dave Rowett, Sam Cook, Elliot Slade) on Sunday.
Waverton (Danny Cavendor) completed their 32nd year in the league with a 2-1 loss at Hickory’s (Andy Eaton, Kieran Tudor) while Spital Vaults (Andrew Whitton, Graham Rowlands) wrapped up their campaign by drawing 2-2 at home to Tattenhall.

Tarvin’s promotion was confirmed on Tuesday when Custom House won 4-1 at Bull & Stirrup. On the same night Vicars Cross Dynamos secured the runners-up spot in Concorde Trophies Section A with a 6-1 success at Elton.
