THREE local teams booked their place in the second round of the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup on Saturday – but it was the end of the line for three others.

While Tarporley Victoria needed extra-time to win 4-3 at home to Hazel Grove, in-form Helsby had it far easier as they cruised to a 7-0 home success over Mersey Royal.

Darren Moore, Dan Davies (2), Kevin Patterson, Matty Johnston (2) and Reece Conlan got the goals.

Also through are Capenhurst Villa after Jack Sheppard (2) and Ryan Nicholl strikes ensured they won 3-2 at home to Barnton.

Blacon Youth Club lost 2-0 at home to Stockport Georgians, there was a 2-0 home defeat for Malpas against New Brighton, while Neston Nomads fell 3-0 at home to Middlewich Town.

Capenhurst have been handed a home tie against West Kirby in the last 32. Helsby will head to Christleton, Tarporley will entertain New Brighton while Upton AA, having been given a first-round walkover, will host Ellesmere Port.

Chester Nomads, after a first-round bye, will travel to Styal.
