CASTROL Social finally took the honours in the Wirral Senior Cup first-round derby with Ellesmere Port, triumphing 3-0 on Saturday as the game went ahead at the third attempt.

The tie had been postponed for the previous two weekends but when the sides did take to the pitch, it was the Oilmen who dominated with goals from Dave Prodger (2) and Neil Clarke.

There were draws for both Capenhurst Villa and Willaston in Second Division action with goals from Paul Ainsworth and John Farrell earning Villa a point at Pavilions, while Tom Coan's strike for Willaston at home to Ashville Reserves was levelled by Ben Bennett.

In the Third Division, Phil Coffin, Joe Senior and Daryl Freeman all netted for Ellesmere Port Reserves in their 3-0 triumph at Capenhurst Villa Reserves.

Grange Athletic grabbed a welcome 2-1 home victory against Manor Athletic Reserves as they moved off the bottom of the table, leapfrogging their opponents, thanks to strikes Andy Boden and Graham Roberts.
