SECOND-half goals from Joshua Dymond and Callum Berry (2) were enough for Upton Panthers to overcome Saltney Ferry 3-1 on the Chester and District Junior League's Under 10s Cup.

Upton keeper Toby Venables was voted man of the match for some secure handling in goal.

Chester Nomads lost 2-1 to Christleton, Jake Jones scoring twice as Ryan Crump was named MoM. Mitchell Mowatt netted for Nomads and the MoM award was shared by the team.

Sion Brisbane (2), Rhys Dowington and star man Callum Woods shared the goals for Boughton in their 4-1 win over Castrol Celtic.

Ryan Bowyer netted for Celtic, whose MoM was Jack Potbury.

In the U9s Cup Play Off, Waverton defeated Newton Athletic 2-0 with goals from Alex Wilkinson and Michael Pino.

In the U8s section, MoM Isaac Robinson and Stephen Rimmer were in the goals as Christleton Newscene beat Blacon Youth 3-0.

The mini football semi-finals for U9s and U10s will be played at Christleton High School tomorrow.

14. nRevenge was sweet for Vicars Cross A as they sealed a place in the semi-finals of the Under 12s North Wales Girls Cup.

The Chester girls played host to Mold and defeated the league champions 2-1, avenging their 3-0 loss to the Flintshire team in the league last month.

The breakthrough came when Georgia Dutton opened up the Mold defence with a great through ball and Hannah Fryer slotted home.

Mold, however, equalised just before the break with a close-range effort by Phoebe Davies.

The winning goal arrived with 15 minutes to go when Dutton netted after her initial shot had been blocked. Player of the match for Vicars Cross was Holly Mason.Vicars Cross play Rhyl in the semis.

Cheshire could not make home advantage pay as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Merseyside in the Northern Counties Schools FA Under 18 Cup final.

Merseyside ran out 2-0 winners at Chester City's Saunders Honda Stadium last Thursday.

Michael Deakin opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and Leigh Viedman added a second five minutes from time.
