JOSH Wilson produced a man-of-the-match performance on his comeback from injury as Vauxhall Motors made it back-to-back Blue Square North wins for the first time this season.

Saturday’s 3-2 home victory over play-off chasing Worcester City moved Motors closer to the mid-table position they crave.

Striker Wilson has spent the last three months on the sidelines but it took him less than five minutes to mark his return in style.

Craig Mahon’s effort was parried by James Dormand and Wilson was on hand to drill home his ninth goal of the campaign from 15 yards.

An unfortunate Paul Jones own goal levelled the contest before winger Mahon and on-loan Tranmere Rovers starlet Cole Stockton gave the hosts a two-goal advantage.

But Carl Macauley’s men had to endure a nervy finish after the visitors reduced the deficit late on.

Motors are in next in action away to Colwyn Bay on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Airbus UK Broughton are close to appointing a new director of football following Craig Harrison’s departure.

Stewart Roberts, the chief operating officer of the Welsh Premier League club, said: “We expect to make announce our appointment on Sunday or Monday. The calibre of candidates has been outstanding and I would like to think that whoever we choose captures the imagination of Airbus fans, players and officials.”
