LIVERPOOL are unconcerned about the latest development in Tom Hicks and George Gillett’s desperate bid to secure “hundreds of millions of pounds” in damages.

It’s emerged that the American duo, who were ousted from Anfield nearly a year ago, have filed papers in the High Court against owners Fenway Sports Group, the Royal Bank of Scotland, former chairman Sir Martin Broughton and ex-managing director Christian Purslow.

The move was expected and is simply part of an ongoing legal process.

Back in February, Hicks and Gillett were denied the right to sue in the USA so any claim had to be carried out in the UK.

Club sources say the lawsuit will be “defended robustly” and there’s a confidence that once again Hicks and Gillett will be sent packing from the High Court without a penny to show for their efforts.
