A major partner of Chester FC has extended its sponsorship deal with the club.

BiG Storage has backed Chester FC since the club’s formation in 2010 and the Blues’ marketing man Dave Riche is delighted the Sealand Road-based business, run by Andrew Donaldson, has signed up for a fourth consecutive year.

Riche said: “Andrew Donaldson is very forward thinking and we share a number of the same ideas as to how far we can take this partnership.

“Sponsorship is not just about sitting back and resting on your laurels, it is about expanding the brand into every opportunity possible and BiG Storage will give us further doors to open up.”

Club mascot BiG Lupus forms a major part of the new deal, which will see the BiG Storage brand advertised at the Exacta Stadium, in the matchday programme and on the club’s website.

BiG Storage will also give fans the chance to win tickets to watch the Blues in style and have once again sponsored fixture cards which can be collected at the turnstiles before Tuesday’s home friendly against Mansfield Town (7.30pm).

Donaldson is also chairman of the city’s professional basketball club, Cheshire Phoenix, and this season they will have a closer link-up with Chester FC.

Riche said: “We see lots of cross promotional activities between the two codes this season and hopefully in future years.

“BiG Lupus will be at the basketball and the football and we are looking into cheerleaders also being shared within the two clubs.

“Chester FC are focusing on expanding our junior fan base – something that is also key to the Phoenix basketball set-up and we believe the two clubs can work hand in hand within the community.”

Donaldson said: “We’re proud to be one of the founding supporting sponsors of Chester FC and renewing and developing our deal for a fourth season was a no-brainer!”
