BLACK Bear roared as they closed the gap at the top of the Cheshire and Border Counties League Division One to two points, by defeating leaders Mere Inn 3-0. The goals came in the first 45 minutes, from Huff, Brotherton and Butler.
PSV Alsager got back to winning ways, beating Military Arms 3-2 thanks to Hardstaff, Mottram and Gray. Military goals came from Thorley and Ellershaw.
Nag's Head picked up their third point of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Alsager Old Corinthians, Degnem netted for the Nag, with Brown replying for Corinthians. A brace apiece by Crampton and Hill helped Scholar Green to a 6-2 win over Alsager Plough.
Division Two leaders Blazer opened up a three-point gap at the top, thanks to a 5-1 home win over Broughton Arms. Hope and Aldington both netted doubles, with Barrett making it five.
Goals from Hollinshead, Banks and an own-goal helped Leisure Club overcome Unionese 3-2.
The Bank were held 2-2 at the Kings.
