Any team news?

Chester have no fresh fitness concerns and are likely to name an unchanged side from last weekend's 4-1 win at home to Torquay United.

Ross Hannah, who has scored 11 times in his last nine games, will again to lead the line with Danny Hattersley expected to be chief support, while Ryan Lloyd has extended his loan from Port Vale and will continue in midfield.

Altrincham midfielder Josh O'Keefe, who had a short stint on loan at Chester last season, is available again having completed a three-match ban. He was due to return midweek but the FA Trophy first round replay at Leamington was postponed less than an hour before kick-off.

Defender Tom Marshall (ankle) remains unavailable but captain Shaun Densmore, who has been sidelined with a medial ligament problem, is nearing a return, although Robins boss Lee Sinnott won't rush him back.

What has Steve Burr had to say?

"We've not had the best of luck against Altrincham since I've been here and getting knocked out of the FA Cup hurt us badly but this win puts us into good mode for going into those games and they're games that I feel we have got to look at winning.

"You come up against some teams in this division where, and we're always trying to win, realistically it's difficult but Saturday was a game we felt we could win and we'd done a lot of homework on Torquay and areas we feel we could get at them and I felt we did that.

"The Macc game and the games against Alty are games where we want to look to get more points on the board."

Tell me about Altrincham...

The Robins head into this game in 19th position in the National League with seven wins, five draws and 12 defeats from 24 games, leaving them on 26 points.

Scoring goals has been a problem for Alty with only Welling having scored less in the league but they do boast a decent record at home this season and have form on their side having beaten Chester on the last three occasions the sides have faced each other.

Striker Damian Reeves will be the biggest danger having scored four times in five games against the Blues while fellow frontman Michael Rankine can be a handful when in the mood.

Lee Sinnot's side fared well in the FA Cup this term after knocking out Chester in the qualifying stages. Alty beat Barnsley in the first round before a narrow defeat at Colchester.

What happened the last time the sides met?

Do you really need reminding? Chester went down 1-0 having produced an uninspiring performance at Moss Lane back in October in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

Damien Reeves struck on 51 minutes to settle the contest and the Blues could have no real complaint over the result with the Robins more deserving winners in a poor game.

The Blues made a bright enough start with chances for Michael Kay, Ryan Higgins and Ross Hannah, but Sinnott's team went into the interval on top after George Bowerman wasted a hat-trick of opportunities.

The second-half was seven minutes old when Altrincham took a deserved lead when Jon Worsnop parried James Lawrie's free-kick and the ball dropped to the clinical Reeves, who stabbed home.

Tim Deasy saved from Hannah and Tom Peers but the Robins progressed with something in hand.

What are the match odds?

Altrincham 9/4, Draw 9/4, Chester FC 23/20 (Betway).

What is the weather going to be like?

Expected to be cloudy with a good chance of rainfall throughout the afternoon. Temperatures of around 13°C.
