WITTON Albion have signed left winger James Turley from Stalybridge Celtic.

Manager Jim Vince said: 'It is a position we have been looking to fill for ages and he is a player we have been watching for a while.

'We did not have a naturally left-footed player at the club last season, so he will give us balance. He is also quick and tenacious.'

Turley, 25, had previously been with Harrogate Town and towards the end of last season was loaned by Stalybridge to Mossley.

He may well be Vince's last signing before training resumes next month and the club opens its doors to various trialists.

'You always need leeway to sign the outstanding players who may turn up,' said Vince, who has signed Adam Warlow (Crewe Alex), Tony Danylyk and Dave Tickle (Leek Town), Steve Brodie (Stalybridge) and Chris Royle (Ashton United).

Witton want a qualified physiotherapist and would prefer someone local. Anyone interested can contact Vince on 0774 836 7775.
