Aldershot Town

The Shots have added striker Charlie Walker to their squad following his release from League Two side Luton Town.

The 25-year-old featured six times for the Hatters after joining Luton last summer and finished the season on loan with Boreham Wood in National League South.

His signing will help fill the void left by prolific marksman Brett Williams after the former Reading youth prospect, who netted a total of 43 goals in 99 appearances for Aldershot during a two-year spell, joined Teddy Sheringham's League Two side Stevenage.

Barrow AFC

Bluebirds boss Darren Edmondson has added 21-year-old midfielder David Mellor to his ranks at Holker Street following his release from League One side Oldham Athletic.

Mellor, who started his career at Manchester United's youth academy, made three appearances for the Latics last season following loan spells with Alfreton Town and FC Halifax Town.

Braintree Town

New Iron boss Danny Cowley has signed prolific striker Michael Cheek from Chelmsford City after he bagged 32 goals in 66 games during two seasons in the Conference South.

Meanwhile, Braintree captain Kenny Davis and strikers Jordan Cox and Sean Marks have all signed new deals with the club.

Gateshead

Malcolm Crosby's plans for the new season have been dealt a blow after experienced Heed midfielder John Oster announced his decision to retire from the game after turning down a new contract.

The 36-year-old, capped 13 times by Wales, has been with the National League club for the past two seasons and made over 500 appearaces in a career that took in spells with, among others, Premier League sides Everton and Sunderland.

Guiseley AFC

Guiseley have signed former Accrington Stanley midfielder Will Hatfield following his release from the Crown Ground.

The 23-year-old former Leeds United trainee ended last season on loan with FC Halifax Town, making 11 appearances after joining the club in November.

FC Halifax Town

Winger Adam Smith, 30, has left the Shaymen to sign for National League rivals Wrexham.

Smith made 80 league appearances for Halifax in a two-year spell and is joined out of the exit door at the Shay by Danny Schofield who has left the club to take up a player-coach role with Bradford Park Avenue.

Macclesfield Town

The Silkmen have missed out on one of their top summer targets, Alex Grant, after the defender opted to join Australian A-League side Perth Glory.

Manchester-born Grant, 21, had spent a large part of last season on loan at Moss Rose from Premier League side Stoke City but has opted to return Down Under having spent much of his childhood years in Australia.

Torquay United

The Gulls have appointed Paul Cox as their new manager.

The 43-year-old has been out of work since leaving Mansfield Town in November and succeeds Chris Hargreaves in the Plainmoor hotseat.

The club have also close their youth academy as part of a cost-cutting measure following a takeover of the club by a 10-member consortium headed up by ex-Gulls player Dean Edwards.

Tranmere Rovers

Rovers midfielder Marc Laird has left Prenton Park in favour of a switch to League Two side Yeovil Town.

Laird, 29, made 34 appearances for Rovers last season as they were relegated from the Football League.

Woking

Defender Ismael Yakubu has penned a deal with the Cards following his release from League Two side Newport County.

The 30-year-old spent four seasons with the Welsh side, making 120 league appearances and helping them win promotion to League Two in 2012-13.

Wrexham

Dragons boss Gary Mills has made secured his eight signing of the summer after snapping up winger Adam Smith, 30, from National League rivals FC Halifax Town.
