Chester FC have put the finishing touches to their preparations for tomorrow’s big Skrill Premier opener at Barnet (3pm).

Neil Young’s men were put through their paces at a training session held at the impressive Metropolitan Police Bushey Sports Club facility in Hertfordshire this afternoon.

Blues boss Young and his assistant manager Gary Jones spent the majority of the session working on shape and tactics.

It ended with a nine-a-side, three-touch game, with first-team coach Gary Powell making up the numbers. Ben Mills and Gareth Seddon were among the goals.

Following a busy and successful summer in the transfer market, Young has put together a strong 20-man squad for the club’s maiden campaign in the non-league top flight.

Three members of the squad have not made the trip for tomorrow’s Barnet clash.

Alex Titchiner is injured while Lee Pugh and Ashley Williams have been left at home as they would not have featured in the 16-man matchday squad.

Young, his management team and his players will stay overnight in a hotel before the showdown against Edgar Davids’ side.

Chester’s 17-man travelling squad is: John Danby, Martin Fearon, Lewis Turner, Michael Kay, George Horan, Paul Linwood, Kevin McIntyre, Joe Heath, Craig Lindfield, Jason Jarrett, Danny Harrison, Nathan Turner, Craig Mahon, Gareth Seddon, Ben Mills, Marc Williams, Jamie Reed.
