Blacon Youth Club hope the return of some key men can help them turn the tables on Hale this weekend.

Blacon have suffered three straight defeats that sees them sitting fourth from bottom Division One including a 2-0 reverse at Hale on September 13.

Joint-managers Jamie Rogers and Paul Dowridge expect another tough encounter on Saturday (3pm) at Cairns Crescent.

Dowridge said: “Hale are a very good side to be fair.

“They move the ball around well and they are quick but we were right in the game up at their place.

“Their second goal came with 20 or 25 minutes left and that wore us down and our fitness started to show.

“We had a few missing up there and we should have back for this weekend .”

Experienced midfielder Ross Broadbent and forward Sam Henry are among those returning to the Blacon squad.

Dowridge said: “It will be a big boost to have Ross back because he’ll give us a lot of energy in the middle.

“He’s a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room too so he’ll make a difference.”

Blacon did not have a game last weekend giving the managerial duo time to develop a plan to counter Hale’s strengths.

Dowridge said: “I don’t want to give too much away but we will putting some pace on the wings to get at them.”
