OULTON PARK rattled off their second Bramall Trucks County League win of the season, beating Toft at Little Budworth by six wickets with nine balls to spare.

The visitors made the most of Oulton's famous batting track to score 241-8dec and they might have done better still but a for a brilliant run out of Jamie Noble on 71 by Paul Berry.

But John Davies (2-50), Stewart Eaton (1-31) and Chris Jones (3-58) always kept the target within reach.

Winsford 16-year-old Jonny Kettle opened well for 25 and at 128-4 the game was finely balanced. But splendid knocks by Danny Leech (63no) and Stewart Eaton (58no) in a stand of 116 saw Oulton to 244-4.

Leech, Nathan Dumelow, Danny Jones and Ben Spendlove - who has yet to make his Oulton debut - have all been selected for Cheshire.

WINNINGTON PARK i m p rove d greatly on their opening day defeat to score a winning draw at Didsbury.

Aussie Aidan Baker carried his bat for 65 and useful contributions from Jeremy Casey - a swashbuckling 35 - and Jim Pilling (33) saw Winnington to 184-5. Under pressure, notably from Casey's 4-48, Didsbury tailed off at 174-9, when Park left them needing 12 off the last over.

The performance lifted Park off the foot of the first Division One table.

Mobberley beat MIDDLEWICH by five wickets.

The visitors declared at 184-7. Dave Parry (79no) led the way and Gavin Tomlinson added 47, but Mobberley made 187-5 in 40 overs. n In the Meller Braggins Cheshire League, DAVENHAM claimed a winning draw at WEAVERHAM in their Division One derby match.

On a peach of a wicket they hit a mammoth 263-2, with Dave Ashley breaking his own league record by hitting 185no as the Weaverham bowl-ers toiled in the sun.

Dropped catches did not aid the home side's cause, but ex-Davenham bowler Dave Holden had the satisfaction of taking both wickets.

Weaverham's innings got off to a flier thanks to Steve Robertson (24) and Holden (38), but wickets fell regularly. Rob MacMillan's 33 and Steve Pinnington's 23 gave tailenders Alan Bell and Keith Atherton a chance to fight a rearguard action and avoid defeat at 184-9.

Kenny Roberts took 3-36, Emlyn Roberts 2-21 and Mike Rogerson 2-25 for Weaverham 2nds. But Mere scored 241-8 before the visitors collapsed to defeat at 151ao after Emlyn Roberts (43) and Phil Harris (35) had given the Wallerscote Road side hope.

Steve Warburton, Chris Hornby and Tom Argent shared the wickets as Davenham 2nds dismissed Over Peover 2nds for 98. Davenham were guided to 101-4 by Tom Screen (30no) and Jamie Cartledge (24).

Also in Division One, OAKMERE 138ao (Paul Yearsley 31, Paul Hutchinson 18) were beaten at Runcorn 142-4.

A youthful Oakmere 2nds, 108-9 (Saeed Kara 28), held Runcorn 170-8 at Overdale Lane, where veteran Eddie Gibson took 5-35.

After a postponement WINSFORD made a belated but winning start to their campaign at Barrow.

Put in, they were uncertain and were 19-3 after 11 overs. Then youngsters David Ellis-Smith and Mike Clarke put on 71. Ellis-Smith went on to make 56, including six fours and two huge sixes and with skipper Barry Crellin making a controlled 35, Winsford reached a respectable 165.

The Winsford bowlers were tight from the start and the most productive was John Phillips, who returned his best figures for the club, 5-15 in nine overs as Barrow fell for 123.

Winsford 2nds reached 133-9 with openers Mark Skellon (37) and Ant Ollier (22) putting on 63 for the first w i cke t .

Wilmslow's response was a pedestrian 78-5 (Paul Hough 2-14).

BARNTON fell agonisingly short at Pott Shrigley. Having been given a target of 205-8 they reached 203-6 before running out of time.

NORTHWICH , 120ao, were beaten at their former Cheshire Alliance colleagues Stretton, 124-3, after John Hughes had opened optimistically with 44.

The 2nds thrashed Bowdon Vale, Glinoj Cherian hitting 44no and Matt Rushworth 40no in a total of 150-4. Vale were bowled out for just 34 by Mark O'Neill (3-10), Adam Davies (3-10) and David Murphy (4-4).

In the Cheshire Building Society Cheshire Alliance HARTFORD lost out at Woodford, who went from 50-4 to 203-8 (Brian Harkin 4-65, Matt Shink-field 2-57).

Geoff Sharp (35) was confident, but the Hartford innings stuttered to 95ao.
