KINGLSEY began their Division One campaign with an emphatic win at home to a Wistaston side missing key players.

Captain Mark Butcher inserted the visitors and wickets fell steadily at both ends with Jonny Ollier and Rob Massey, impressing on debut, claiming two each.

The first and final wickets fell to Adrian Burden's (4-25) left arm swing-ers as Wistaston could post only 87ao.

Kingsley lost only one wicket, that of Butcher, in their pursuit of victory as opener John Elliott (29no) made a determined knock and Neil Rowlands typically hit his way to an unbeaten 48 in less than 30 overs.

CHESTER COUNTY OFFICERS were winners at home to Woodford.

Steve Johnson swung the game towards CCO with some penetrative bowling to finish with 4-29.

Run outs by Steve Holland and Adam Gewargis were the icing on the cake as Woodford posted 108 all out.

In reply Chester struggled against top class swing bowler Chris Holmes, who took 4-36.

The arrival of skipper Johnson (37) at the crease allayed any fears as he launched a blistering assault against the spinner with five fours and two sixes, taking the score past 100.

Tony Hattersley (31no) was at his diligent best, shoring up one end as CCO made it to 110-7.

At BUNBURY, their match with Sandbach was drawn. The hosts batted first and posted 214-7 (S Lamb 75).

In reply, Sandbach reached 156-9 (Bob Harris 5-17).

ELLESMERE PORT'S challenge began in defeat after a tough match at home to Radbroke Hall.

Port were all out for 190 but Rad-broke, in reply, claimed a two-ticket victory.

In Division Two, SAUGHALL opened their season with a 74-run victory away to fellow new-boys Audlem.

The visitors batted first in a damp track and reached 142-8 off their 48 overs, Martin Huxley was compiling an important innings of 47 before being trapped lbw.

Andy Thomas contributed an entertaining cameo, plundering 26 quickfire runs late in the innings.

When Audlem came into bat, Pete Tunnicliffe (3-34) took the first two wickets and 33-2 soon became 37-3 when skipper James Huxley claimed his first victim.

He went on to firmly erase the memory of his golden duck by taking personal-best figures of 6-14 in a miserly 12 over spell as Audlem were dismissed for 68.

At FRODSHAM, the home side defeated Trinity by two wickets. Trinity were bowled out for 86 (I Hart 5-20) but the hosts answered with 92-8.

In Division Three, CAPENHURST drew at Port Sunlight.

The hosts, batting first, started strongly and totalled 176-8 (Walking 7-45) but the visitors claimed the draw, reaching 84-7.
