Cheshire captain Andy Hall has finally ended speculation about his future at club level.

The former England schoolboy and current Minor Counties captain was rumoured to be moving to Oulton Park or Bootle.

But he has turned down the temptation to join either side and has made the decision to stay with Bramhall, the Murray Smith Cheshire County League club with whom he has played for the past two years.

Hall's decision came despite Bramhall suffering relegation from the ECB Premier Division last season.

He starred for Cheshire this term as they mounted a successful Minor Counties Championship campaign in the Western Division and reached the quarter-finals of the MCCA Knockout Cup.

Oulton Park were rumoured to be favourites to entice Hall to Little Budworth, especially with two of his Cheshire teammates, Jason Whittaker and Danny Leech, playing there. Paul Berry has been named Oulton Park's batsman of the year, with Andy McIlroy taking the bowling honours and Steve Yates the fielding award.

The Clubman of the year was Bob Wood, while Andy Wilgose was named colt of the year.
