SIMON Wilkinson was Christleton’s nemesis as they lost by seven runs to Bramhall in Division One of the County League.

Skipper Nick Cantello (50) top-scored in Bramhall’s 164, Varun Sood taking 4-38.

The Little Heath hosts were then all out for 157, Sood again the star man with 65. But Wilkinson, bowling unchanged, was the main man as he snaffled 8-68.

In the Premier Division, CHESTER BOUGHTON HALL suffered a cruel blow to their title hopes when their match at Didsbury fell foul to the weather.

The ‘no result’ cost Chester dearly because Hyde won and subsequently moved to the top of the table

Third-placed Nantwich also won, seeing off NESTON at Parkgate.

The hosts were all out for 122 and the Dabbers responded with 125-1.

OULTON PARK climbed further away from the drop zone courtesy of a home win over Toft.

The visitors opted to bat first and their seesaw innings started promisingly before dipping to 147-4.

A maiden century from teenager Ed Stubbs (105no) then helped lift Toft to 295-6dec (Danny Leech 3-55).

It was a big total to chase but Park were up to the task.

A stunning second-wicket stand of 223 between Louis Bentley (168no) and Rick Moore (86) saw the hosts home with three overs to spare.
