NATHAN Dumelow and Ben Spendlove have waved goodbye to Oulton Park CC and Cheshire cricket.

The ace duo have been mainstays for both their club and county in the last five years, but from next season they will be plying their trade in the Derbyshire Premier and County League with Quarndon.

The arrival of all-rounder Dumelow and run-king Spendlove at Little Budworth, together with a third former Derbyshire player in Chris Bassano, signalled the start of a period of stunning success for the Cheshire County League outfit.

Park won the Premier Division and Cheshire Cup for three consecutive seasons between 2005 and 2007 before winning a league and Twenty20 Cup double in 2009.

Cheshire County Cricket Club chairman John Pickup said: “Dumelow was the best all-rounder Cheshire have had since three-day cricket began and much of our success can be put down to his contributions.

“Ben Spendlove was also a fine, attacking batsman who played many excellent innings for his county and club.”
