CHRISTLETON lost out to Sale in a thriller which went to the final ball of the match.

The hosts scored the two runs they required to clinch victory at Dane Road, with their last pair taking the score to 239-9.

Iroshan de Silva (117no) and Ifti Naseer (83) had earlier helped Christleton close on a daunting 237-5.

Then Calvin Flowers (48) and Danny Halkon (38) looked like winning it for Sale until Christleton claimed a rush of wickets.

But Sale’s last pair guided them home in a nail-biting finish.
