FRODSHAM’S mixed start to the Cheshire Alliance Division One season continued on Saturday.
They went down by 29 runs at home to Stalybridge.
The visitors batted first and put a score of 152ao on the board, Richard Warburton taking 6-45.
After tea, Frodsham were bowled out for 129 (Gavin Houghton scoring 38no).
SAUGHALL were involved in a thrilling draw against Kerridge to move up to third in the Division Two table.
The Chester side chose to bat first but were in trouble at 58-5. They were saved by the middle order of Martin Huxley (39), Dipak Jena (42) and Lawrence Gotts (60no) as they reached 182-9 off their 48 overs.
Kerridge’s rollercoaster innings dipped to 75-4, Jena taking three wickets in 10 balls, before recovering to 164-6.
Lawrence Gotts (3-42) kept up the pressure and Kerridge were left needing 15 to win off the last over with two wickets in hand.
Although Jena (6-58) claimed another scalp, the last pair held out for the draw at 168-9.

In Division Three, CAPENHURST lost by 31 runs at Eastham. The hosts scored 173-5 before bowling Cape out for 142.
