THERE was drama at Little Heath on Saturday as Christleton lost out in a tight finish against Division One rivals Bollington.

Tom Gower (57) top scored as Bollington posted 192-9 in their innings.

In reply, Christleton almost made it, only to lose their final wicket at 189 – just four runs short of victory.

Matt Astbury made 41 but Bolly’s Muhammed Jehangir (6-39) proved to be the difference.

In Division Two, TATTENHALL suffered a crushing 106-run defeat to Upton, who batted first and reached 224-6. Gary Forster (3-47) was the pick of the Tattenhall bowlers on a pitch which favoured the batsman.

Tattenhall then lost three early wickets as their response started poorly.

They began to recover before tea, led by Tom Hyslop (37), and went into the break at 64-3.

But when play resumed they were reduced to 70-5, losing the crucial wicket of Hyslop.

Wickets began to fall at regular intervals and only Andy Morris (31no) offered any resistance.

Tattenhall were eventually bowled out with nine overs left. Ian Linwood was the difference between the sides, returning figures of 6-24 from an outstanding 18-over spell.

MALPAS lost by one wicket in a tight game against Congleton.

John Suckley (69no) was the leading run scorer as Malpas declared on 182-5. Tom Blease (56) lead the visitors to victory.
