CHESTER County Officers are raring to go after two successive promotions up the Cheshire cricket ladder.

Mike Clarke’s men are now in Division One of the TACS Partnership Cheshire League (formerly the Meller Braggins League) and begin the 2013 campaign with a trip to Runcorn on Saturday.

Batsman Martin Barrett has moved to Chester from Winsford.

The rest of the batting is based around prolific opener Mike Rowlands, who looks capable of putting lots of runs on the board, while Ian Rule, Chris Wright, Mike Jones, Stuart Putson and Roger Watt all topped 300 runs over the last two seasons.

The bowling department is going to miss Indian paceman Vamshi, who after three years in Chester has been promoted at work but had to move to Exeter.

Elsewhere in Division One, MALPAS drop down from the County League after suffering relegation last season.

OAKMERE, who finished mid-table in 2012, host Hale Barns on Saturday.
