CHESTER County Officers hosted Barnton and secured a four-wicket win in Meller Braggins League Division Two.
The visitors decided to bat and Vamshi made the early breakthrough for CCO, bowling Sowerby in his second over.
Despite this the visitors made good progress scoring 32 off the first eight overs. Vamshi was replaced by Steve Johnson who stemmed the flow of runs and sent Paul Coot (28) back to the pavilion.
Barnton reached 151 with opening batsman, Rick Farnworth amassing a well deserved 85no.
Chester started badly as they found themselves at 8-2 after four overs.
J Afridi batted with his usual gusto to add 17 and help the score up to 86 before being caught out and Michael Rowlands (33) soon followed putting pressure on Chris Wright and Roger Watt with 66 needed.
The pair added 51 runs before Wright was dismissed and Graham Dodd helped Watt (44no) see CCO home with 152-6.
BUNBURY drew at Ashton, the home side making 177-7 and Bunbury holding on with 110-8.
CHOLMONDELEY scored a 47-run win at home to Mere, scoring 187-7 (Brett Balac 49) before bowling Mere out for 140 (Matt Bacon 5-42)
