After completing a stunning season that saw them collect four out of a possible five trophies, Chester Boughton Hall have already strengthened their side for next season after signing Cheshire all-rounder Rick Moore.

Moore, 25, has joined the Filkins Lane side from Cheshire League Division One side Oulton Park and links up with the club on the back of a tremendous season at county level with Cheshire, for whom he scored 911 runs in all competitions.

Hall skipper Lee Dixon believes that the club have secured the services of ‘the best player in the county’ in adding former Christleton player Moore to their ranks for the 2015 campaign.

Dixon said: “Adding the best player in the county to our squad is just fantastic. Rick will be a tremendous asset.

“Lining up in our top order alongside Warren Goodwin will add an exciting new dimension to our side.

“I’ve played with Rick at club and county level for a number of years and he’s a class act on and off the field. He also already knows our lads well.

“He’ll be helping coach our youngsters too which will be invaluable at a time when our junior section is going from strength to strength.”

Moore joins the club having spent six years with Oulton Park and boasting an impressive CV that has also included spells with both Kent and Northamptonshire 2nds, as well as a successful university career.

His addition to the squad comes on the back of a phenomenal season of success for skipper Dixon and his charges who have won the Cheshire Cup, Liverpool Echo KO Cup, Cheshire T20 and National Club T20 competitions, as well as finishing as runners-up to Hyde in the Cheshire Premier League.

“I’ve had some great times with some great people,” said Moore.

“But after six years it’s time for a new challenge and the opportunity to play back in the Premier League.

“It doesn’t get much better than playing at Chester. I’m really looking forward to the challenge of pushing for even more silverware in 2015 and I can’t wait to get started.”
