CHESTER Boughton Hall bounced back from their heavy opening-day defeat to Urmston by picking up a victory at Filkins Lane on Saturday.

Visitors Toft were soundly beaten in the County League Premier Division clash.

Chester batted first on a damp wicket and posted 229-7 before declaring after 50 overs, leaving 60 overs to try to bowl Toft out.

Mark Rowland (72), Lee Dixon (51), debutant overseas pro Kumar Sarna (47) and Mike Robinson (36) were the hosts main scorers.

In reply, Toft could muster only 160 all out with Jack Williams (6-58), Alex Kegg (2-33) and Mark Rowland (2-38) taking the wickets.

NESTON claimed a 10-wicket home win after bowling Urmston out for 114 (Chris Hackett 4-14, Jordan Free 3-34). Neston then knocked the runs off at 116-0 in 15.2 overs, Hackett cracking 94 off 46 balls.

In Division One, OULTON PARK recorded a convincing home win over Bollington thanks to standout performances from Craig Williamson and Ric Moore.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Bollington’s opening pair made steady progress in difficult conditions.

Williamson was brought into the attack to partner Guy Emmett and the left-arm duo swung the momentum in Park’s favour as Bollington collapsed to 69-4.

Williamson finished with 5-45 and Emmett 4-36 as Bollington were all out for 119.

In reply, Park lost two early wickets but then new signing Pat Roberts (32no) joined opener Moore (80no) at the crease and the pair took their side to 121-2.

CHRISTLETON’s match at Bramhall was cancelled on Friday due to a waterlogged pitch.

In Division One of the Cheshire Alliance, FRODSHAM picked up a good win at Appleton.

A cavalier knock of 27 by Mark Done helped Frodsham post 111.

Ben Large then ripped through the Appleton (81ao) batting order.

SAUGHALL were forced to wait a little longer to start their league campaign after heavy rain washed out their match against Stalybridge St Pauls. Their 2nds lost to Frodsham 2nds.
