CHRISTLETON’S outstanding Sri Lankan all-rounder Iroshan De Silva had a fine game in his club’s five-wicket home win against Irby.

The visitors were bowled out for 125 (De Silva 5-30) in Saturday’s County League Division One fixture.

De Silva top-scored with an unbeaten 75 and old favourite Alex Barr hit 41no as Christleton coasted home to 128-5.

OULTON PARK dropped to fourth spot when they banked only eight points from a draw at Brooklands, who made 197-8.

Oulton replied with 185-8 (Nick James 57, Martyn East 45).

In Division Two, a disappointing batting performance saw relegated MALPAS go down by 103 runs home against Timperley.

Needing 211 to win, Malpas slumped to 59-7 before some late-order hitting by Jon Suckley (31no) at least saw them over the 100 run landmark at 107ao.

ALVANLEY battled bravely at table toppers Middlewich and, although they lost, secured valuable points for their relegation scrap.

Middlewich posted 225-9 (Chris Ainsworth 4-33) before Alvanley made 203 (Andy Bennion 73).

TATTENHALL lost at Poynton. They were bowled out for 76 chasing 182-8.

Neston’s batting let them down as they lost at Marple in the Premier Division.

Marple posted 184-9 and Neston were bowled out for 82.
