ASTON were frustrated by Radbroke Hall's last pair, who batted out the final four overs to earn a draw in their Division One clash.

Batting first, Aston made a fine start as Chris Beesley (77) and Derek Wright (52) put on 127 for the first wicket.

Their dismissals triggered a mini-collapse and Aston declared on 175-6.

Phil Little, Pat Beesley and Andy Leese all picked up three wickets in Hall's reply but they were unable to remove the stubborn last pair and force the win.

Audlem began with a draw at Appleton. After new captain Mike Bishton put Appleton into bat, the home side posted 171-7 as D Adlard collected 4-69.

Audlem responded positively with T Measures (40) and Bishton (28) top scoring in the reply of 125-7.

Audlem Seconds won the reverse fixture, inspired by a seven-wicket haul from M Steele.
