NORTHWICH found their First Division feet with a draw at Chelford, although they were disappointed with their overall performance and the bowling lacked rhythm.
The tight bowling of Nick Shaw and the wrist spin of Dean Kendrick (3-35) ended Chelford's early threat of a big total and they finished on 176-7.
John Hughes led the run chase with solid support from Nigel Goolding and Andy Lindley. But when he went for 43, the opportunity for victory was lost and Northwich survived on 136-8.
New signing John Cartwright and 15-year-old batsman Goolding made their debuts.
Northwich 2nds scored a maximum points win, hitting 182-9 (Ashley Sefton 47, Mark Wrench 44, Pete Gibbon 33no, Scott Hayes 22) and then bowling out Chelford for 70 (Jim Kimber 4-28, Nigel Mears 2-4).
The newly-formed Northwich 3rds also won, whipping through Parkfield Liscard for just 70 runs. Rob Newton (3-14 and 39no) was the hero. Northwich scored 74-0 (Lee Evans 22no) HARTFORD suffered a calamitous collapse at Grange Park.
Disley made 136ao, but Hartford surrendered at 57 with skipper Rob Whittle the only man in double figures.
