AUSTRALIAN ace Jack Scascighini stole the show with a virtuoso batting display for Malpas on Saturday.

Scascighini ran up a massive 127 haul off 61 balls in a breathtaking innings that included 12 sixes and eight fours.

His partnership with Mark Dunning amassed 164 with the latter scoring 61no as Malpas posted 230-2 off 31 overs.

Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to avoid a draw as Wilmslow were reluctant to chase the total. The home side were 111-5 after 35 overs before the match was curtailed at 8.15pm. Malpas Seconds enjoyed a home win over Lymm. Martin Punnet tore through the visitors to take 6-39 as Lymm posted 114ao.

Ken Mottershead (23), Dennis Smith (23no) and Neil Bradley (25no) combined as Malpas hit 115-4 in reply. nOakmere dipped out of the early First Division title pacesetting group with a poor performance at home to Barrow.

On an unpredictable wicket, Barrow did well to make 155-6 in their 45 overs. Craig Phelan (3-50) had some modest success with the ball.

Chris Leech (26) and Paul Yearsley put on 26 for the first wicket but then the aptly-named Mal Barrow (4-14) destroyed Oakmere's top order, reducing the home side to a pitiful 46-7.

Peter Hutchinson (17no) and Jon Owen came together with 21 overs to go and forged a grim match-saving partnership to see Oakmere to 70-7.

Alvanley travelled to Pott Shrigley in a bid to continue their good start to the season but were caught out by the rain. Only 12.5 overs were played in three attempts, Alvanley scoring 42-1 after which Phil Jones was 22no.
