A FAMILY of cricketers have enjoyed a triple success by firing their way to a succession of centuries for Bunbury.
Dave Burrows, 44, and his two sons Tom, 17, and Matt, 16, have been making a habit of piling on the runs for the School Lane side's second string.
Dave and Matt reached three figures in recent weeks before Tom fired a club record 133 not out against Norbury in the Cheshire Alliance Division A.
Proud father Dave, who also coaches Cheshire Under 12s, said: 'We've all been in good form at the crease recently and I was very proud to see Tom set a new club record.'
The Burrows brothers have been involved with Bunbury CC since the age of seven and are on the verge of breaking into Bunbury's first XI, who lost at Ellesmere Port by 91 runs in their Division One fixture on Saturday.
Ellesmere Port made first use with 200-8 with C Roberts unbeaten on 73. Bunbury were bowled out for 109 with D Entwistle (44).
Elsewhere in Division One, Sandbach won the derby with visitors Wistaston by 42 runs. Sandbach batted first and made 204-6 with M Metcalfe (41), J Hutchings (47) and Jon Fox unbeaten on 37. Pick of Wistaston's bowlers was Keith Thornhill (3-35).
Replying, two half century partnerships from Steve Barnes (48) and Steve Collins (39), and Barnes and Chris Townsend (38) kept Wistaston in the hunt. But Fox returned 4-44 and J Oddy 4-51 as the visitors were all out for 162.
Aston lost at Hartford by 96 runs. The hosts were bowled out for 166 with P Little (5-48), but Aston were dismissed for 70.
In Division Two, Audlem were held to a draw by Frodsham, who batted first and made 259-4. In reply, Audlem reached 198-9. nWistaston 2nds tumbled to a 133 run defeat against Sandbach at the Brittles. Sandbach batted first and posted 209ao with D Metcalf (33) and R Burton (27) making runs. For Wistaston D Cogger took 4-48.
Wistaston replied with 76ao. Mark Robinson top scored with (16) and Sandbach's Z Safraz returned 3-9. nThe inaugural Sandbach Saxons twenty20 tournament will take place at Sandbach CC, Hind Heath Lane, on Sunday (13th).
Three teams, including Sandbach and Haslington will contest the cup, between 9am and late evening. Refreshments, including a licensed bar and a barbecue, will be available. Entrance is £1.50.
