Steve Burr wants to add three new faces to his Chester squad before the end of the month.

An experienced striker is top of his wish list, with the Blues eyeing up one potential target with top flight experience.

“I would like to bring three in at least and that would make us stronger as a group,” said Burr.

“We need to get players in because the table does not lie and up front is an area where we need to strengthen because we are a bit short.

“I have always rated Gareth Seddon but he is injured at the moment, Jamie Reed has come in and done very well and I’ve been impressed with Tom Peers too but he probably needs a little more time to get to know the league.”

Ashley Williams’ move to Welsh Premier League side Airbus UK Broughton leaves Burr short in midfield too.

“Jason Jarrett and George Miller have done very well but we do need someone in the middle of the park and we would like to add some cover with a utility man too,” said Burr.

Money has been freed up for the new arrivals but the new boss admits he must spend wisely.

“I have got targets in mind and I’m chasing a couple at the moment but we will have to see what we can do,” he said.

“I have got to use what we have got in the best way possible and some of the lads I have been speaking to are probably not going to fit in with what we can do at this moment.”
