THINGS were looking good after three quarters of the game in Worcester last Saturday.

We had matched the form team in the league pretty much basket for basket and were executing our game plan really successfully!

Even with Matt Schneck out for long periods due to foul trouble, the game was there for the taking as Kai Williams held BBL player-of-the-month Tommy Freeman to single figures.

But then the bane of our season – inconsistency – kicked in again. The intensity dropped, the execution faltered and by the end of the game there was another L against our name.

It might be tempting to look for excuses, but we need to take charge of our own destiny. The simple fact of the matter is that we are now into the last third of the season and we have to start racking up the Ws if we are to take our place in the playoffs.

The fixture list has not been kind to us – a run of six games with five against the top four sides in the league and the other one, our final derby against Mersey Tigers – but there is no point feeling sorry for ourselves.

At the first team practice of the week we discussed the remaining games and identified where we could and should pick up the points which will lead us to a play off place.

We can take positives from the final quarter against the Eagles at the Northgate and the first three quarters of the game against the Wolves, we just have to put the two parts together and execute effectively for the whole 40 minutes! If we do that, the play-offs are surely in our grasp.
