TCS Chester Jets believe their 103-92 victory over Scottish Rocks in Glasgow last Sunday could springboard their bid for the BBL title.

The win came on the back of a bad defeat at home by Brighton Bears the previous weekend which ended a club record 14 wins in a row.

And after the win in Glasgow head coach Paul Smith said: 'I was delighted with the way we bounced back. We have had a dip in form and the quality hadn't come back, but we showed tremendous spirit. The players gave it their all.'

Neither team could establish much of a lead in the first half until an 8-0 burst from the home side saw them take a 48-42 lead into the locker room.

Chester began to turn the game around as they outscored the Rocks 26-16 in the third.

It was two former Rocks players who set up the win for the league leaders in the fourth quarter. Shawn Myers made three shots from the three-point range and Billy Singleton made two baskets to see the Jets lead 91-79. Trey Moore scored 10 consecutive points to settle the game.

Jets were in action at Sheffield Sharks last night. The league programme has been suspended on Sunday for the BBL Trophy Final between Brighton and Newcastle, who are Jets' opponents on Tyneside next Thursday.
